Update to windows subsystem for android on windows 11 april

Key Points

Microsoft announced the rollout of a new update for the Microsoft Copilot app on Windows, which introduces Copilot Actions for Text Editing. This feature enables Windows Insiders to use Copilot to rewrite, refine, or edit text in real-time during Copilot Vision sessions. To access this feature, users need to open the Copilot app, select the glasses icon in the bottom right of the chat bar, and choose the window they want to share. They can then place their cursor in any text field and speak naturally, using their own words, to suggest edits. For example, they can say "rewrite this to be more formal" or "make this clearer", and Copilot will suggest an edit directly in-flow.

The Copilot Actions toggle needs to be enabled in Settings in the Copilot App for this feature to work. Users who enable this toggle will also have access to Copilot Actions for long-running tasks, a distinct feature in Copilot Labs. Microsoft is continuously exploring how Copilot can empower users to be more productive, craft high-quality content, and reduce the friction of getting started. The company is actively refining this feature based on feedback and real-world use to better support these goals.

The latest Copilot app update (version 1.25121.60.0 and higher) is now beginning to roll out to all Insider Channels through the Microsoft Store. To use Copilot Actions for text editing, users will also need Windows version 26200.6899 or later. This feature is gradually rolling out to Windows Insiders worldwide, excluding the EEA, so availability may vary. Microsoft is excited to preview these improvements with the Insider community and ensure a great Copilot experience for all Windows customers.

Microsoft encourages users to provide feedback directly within the Copilot app by clicking on their profile icon and choosing "Give feedback". The company is committed to delivering a high-quality Copilot experience and values the input of its users. As the rollout of Copilot Actions for text editing continues, Microsoft will likely gather more feedback and make further refinements to the feature. The implications of this update are significant, as it has the potential to enhance the productivity and efficiency of Windows users worldwide.
