Update to windows subsystem for android on windows 11 april

Key Points:

Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27982 to the Canary Channel. This update brings several new features and improvements to the operating system. One of the notable changes is the updated lock screen widgets experience. Users can now add, remove, and rearrange lock screen widgets, such as Weather, Watchlist, and Sports, and discover new widgets through suggested recommendations. To customize the lock screen widgets, users can go to Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.

Another significant feature introduced in this build is the new drag tray feature. When dragging a local file from File Explorer or the desktop, a handy tray appears at the top of the screen, allowing users to drop the file into one of the displayed apps or choose "More…" to open the Windows share window. This feature aims to make sharing files in Windows easier and quicker.

The build also includes several fixes and improvements. Microsoft has resolved issues with Visio freezing when interacting with an IME, game crashes on Arm64 PCs, and text rendering problems in certain apps. Additionally, the company has fixed an issue where explorer.exe might start crashing repeatedly if the PC is used for an extended period without rebooting.

However, some known issues still exist in this build. Insiders with the new Start menu may experience unexpected scrolling to the top, and some users may encounter problems with sleep and shutdown. Microsoft is investigating these reports and working to resolve them.

The Canary Channel is a testing channel for Windows Insiders, where Microsoft releases early builds of the operating system to test new features and gather feedback. The builds in this channel may not be stable and may include features that are not yet fully developed or localized. Insiders can provide feedback on these features through the Feedback Hub, and Microsoft will use this feedback to refine and improve the features before releasing them to the general public.

As the development of Windows 11 continues, Microsoft will release new builds to the Canary Channel, introducing new features and improvements. Insiders can expect to see changes and updates to the operating system, and some features may be rolled out to other channels, such as the Dev and Beta Channels, before being released to the general public.
