Google No Longer Plays Dirty Over New Microsoft Edge Extensions

Microsoft has a new browser for Windows and macOS users, and it’s based on the same engine as Google Chrome, so many were taken by surprise when they attempted to install extensions from the Chrome Web Store and received a warning that discouraged them from doing so.

More specifically, whenever someone using the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser to connect to the Chrome Web Store, they got a warning at the top of the screen that read “Google recommends switching to Chrome to use extensions securely.”

Needless to say, these probably made some give up on installing extensions from the Chrome Web Store, despite the whole thing working quite flawlessly.
