Microsoft Brings Search Highlights to Windows 11 Devices

Microsoft is ready to start the rollout of search highlights on Windows 11 devices that are not enrolled in the Windows Insider program after the company shipped this feature to testing machines earlier this year.

Search highlights provide users with additional information right in the search UI, including holiday and anniversaries.

Microsoft is beginning the rollout of search highlights to non-insider Windows 11 devices with cumulative update KB5014668, which is now available as optional with a manual check for updates in Windows Update.

However, the software giant explains that search highlights will be enabled for production devices gradually, as the company wants to collect feedback on the rollout and make sure everything is working as planned. The rollout will take at least several months, Microsoft says, so reaching the broad availability isn’t something that would be reached overnight.
