Microsoft Makes LAPS a Native Windows 11 Feature

Microsoft has integrated the legacy Local Administrator Password Solution, also known as LAPS, right into Windows 11 with the help of the latest preview build shipped to insiders in the Dev Channel.

Worth knowing, however, is that LAPS is only available for Active Directory domain-joined clients, as Microsoft is using a phased rollout approach for Azure Active Directory users.

“Feature documentation is not yet available, however if you have used the legacy LAPS product then many of the features in this new version will be familiar to you,” the company says.

Furthermore, Windows 11 build 25145 also comes with an expansion of App usage history features, which have previously been shipped to testers with the release of Windows 11 build 25140.
