Microsoft Office Is Dead, Long Live Microsoft 365

Microsoft Office, the most popular productivity suite in the entire world, is going through a major transformation that will have the software step away from its famous name after approximately 30 years.

That’s right, Microsoft Office (the name) will cease to exist, as the Redmond-based software giant is renaming its productivity suite to Microsoft 365.

The transition will begin next month when Microsoft starts the rebranding of Office. Needless to say, the process includes everything from icons, logos, and even new features that will align with the Microsoft 365 brand.

“Over the last couple years, Microsoft 365 has evolved into our flagship productivity suite, so we are creating an experience to help you get the most out of Microsoft 365. In the coming months, Office.com, the Office mobile app, and the Office app for Windows will become the Microsoft 365 app, with a new icon, a new look, and even more features,” the Redmond-based software giant explains.
