Windows 10 May 2020 Update Is the End of Several OS Features
Windows 10 May 2020 Update is finally here, and in addition to a series of new features, it also comes with changes concerning the ones that are already part of the operating system.
More specifically, Microsoft is deprecating and removing a number of features from the OS, and the company has just revealed all of them in dedicated support articles today.
First and foremost, the features that are deprecated (no longer being actively developed and could be removed in a future update):
- Companion Device Framework
- Legacy Microsoft Edge
- Dynamic Disks
As we know already, Microsoft has already launched a new Microsoft Edge browser based on the Chromium engine, so while the legacy version will stick around for a little longer for compatibility reasons, it’s not getting any new improvements in the long term.
