Windows 10 to Get Fix for Media Player Bug Next Week

This month’s Patch Tuesday will come with quite a long list of improvements for Windows 10 devices, and in addition to fixes for the way too many bugs in version 1809, Microsoft is also getting ready to address a glitch in Windows Media Player.

If you’ve been following Microsoft news closely in the last few weeks, the cumulative updates that the software giant rolled out in November introduced an issue that made the seek bar disappear in Windows Media Player.

And while Microsoft originally said that a workaround was in the works, an update to the official KB page of each affected Windows 10 version indicates that a fix is projected to go live in mid-December.

All versions of Windows 10 are affected by this Media Player bug, according to Microsoft itself.

“After installing this update, users may not be able to use the Seek Bar in Windows Media Player when playing specific files. This issue does not affect normal playback,” Microsoft says.
