Windows 10’s Antivirus Gets a Major Update in Latest Redstone 2 Build

Microsoft continues working on the new Windows Defender app for Windows 10, and the latest Insider build released to the Fast ring comes with some pretty major improvements.

First and foremost, it’s important to know that this app is different from the desktop-based Windows Defender version and is supposed to come in line with the other universal apps that Microsoft is offering right now. It features a similar design and since it’s still in its early days, functionality is a bit limited.

But with Windows 10 build 15002, Windows Defender becomes a more powerful security solution, as it gets new options to run quick, advanced, and full scans, just like a fully-featured antivirus product.
