Microsoft has begun rolling out Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7859 (KB5077223) to devices enrolled in the Beta Channel. The update is built on Windows 11, version 25H2, and arrives through an enablement package.
Some features and improvements will reach users first only if they have enabled the toggle for the latest updates in Settings > Windows Update. Over time, these additions will be gradually extended to all Beta Channel participants. Not all features previewed in these builds are guaranteed to ship to the general public, as Microsoft experiments with and refines them based on feedback gathered from Insiders.
Among the new elements, Microsoft 365 Family subscribers will find an on-screen prompt within the Accounts section of the Settings app, offering them the option to switch to a different subscription plan. Users who prefer to remove such prompts can do so by disabling the “suggested content” setting.
The reliability improvements include fixes for taskbar behavior when it is set to auto-hide, preventing app icons from disappearing unexpectedly in the system tray. File Explorer now resolves an issue where open windows or tabs could suddenly move to Desktop or Home. Nearby sharing has been strengthened to better handle the transfer of larger files, and users will notice more stable interactions when configuring options in Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Wheel.
Microsoft emphasizes that new features are being distributed via Controlled Feature Rollout technology, initially reaching a small group of participants and scaling up based on feedback. Features may evolve, be removed, or not be released at all, and some may be refined further before future general releases. Insiders are encouraged to report issues, including localization problems, through the Feedback Hub.
More information about build availability across channels can be found in the Windows Insider Program’s Flight Hub.
