Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 Insider Preview build, number 26200.5722, to users in the Dev Channel. This update brings a range of new features, improvements, and bug fixes, targeting Windows Insiders who are helping to test upcoming functionalities.
One of the standout additions is the new AI-powered agent in Settings for Copilot+ PCs using AMD or Intel processors. This feature allows users to describe issues like “my mouse pointer is too small,” and the agent recommends the right settings or even applies changes automatically, with user permission. The feature currently works when the system language is set to English.
Improvements are also rolling out to tools like Click to Do and Task Manager. Click to Do now features a new tutorial for first-time users, guiding them through its capabilities with text and image tasks. Task Manager has reintroduced a new way to display CPU utilization, aligning with industry standards. A new column, CPU Utility, is now available to show previous calculations for compatibility.
Other changes include a refreshed SCOOBE screen, which simplifies the process of reviewing PC settings after setup. The Notification Center now works on secondary monitors, and the Windows Search box on the taskbar has a new image grid view for more accurate results.
Several fixes are also included in this update. Notable ones involve the taskbar, where issues with invisible icons and slow loading have been addressed. Problems with lock screen widgets, file properties, and input methods like Changjie and Phonetic keyboards have also been resolved.
Despite these updates, some known issues remain. Some users may see an installation rollback error (0x80070005), and others may find their taskbar apps unexpectedly unpinned. Microsoft is investigating these problems and has offered temporary fixes for issues such as Xbox Controller problems causing PC crashes.
The company reminded users that features in the Dev Channel are still under development and may not make it to the final release. Some may change, be removed, or only appear in future versions of Windows. Multilingual support and accessibility for features like Recall and Click to Do are still being refined.
Microsoft encourages users to provide feedback through the Feedback Hub to help improve these features. The company also highlighted that not all features will be rolled out to all users at once, with updates distributed gradually based on feedback and performance data.
As development continues, users are advised to keep an eye on the Flight Hub for updates on which builds are available in each Insider channel. The next major Windows update, version 25H2, will continue to be developed through these preview builds.
