Windows 11 Gets a New HDR Calibration App

Microsoft has announced a new Windows 11 HDR Calibration app that can be downloaded for free by all users running the latest version of the operating system.

Published on the Microsoft Store, the HDR Calibration app does what pretty much any other display calibration app does, so it can run three test patterns to eventually help improve the color accuracy and consistency.

Microsoft says the app also makes it possible for users to adjust the color saturation of all content when the HDR setting is enabled.

“In some cases (particularly with displays without HDR certification), the displayed content is sometimes either brighter than the maximum supported brightness of the display, or darker than the minimum supported brightness,” the software giant notes.
