Key Points
- Xbox mode is rolling out to Windows 11 PCs including laptops, desktops, and tablets
- Auto SR preview delivers 1440p-like detail with smooth framerates when docked on ROG Xbox Ally X
- Streamlined interface minimizes distractions and highlights your game library
What is changing
Xbox mode brings a console-style experience to Windows 11 PCs. It features a streamlined interface that puts your game library and recently played titles front and center while reducing background distractions on laptops, desktops, and tablets.
Auto SR is now in preview for the ROG Xbox Ally X, delivering 1440p-like visual quality with smooth framerates when docked. Xbox Insiders can control when this feature applies to their games through Game Bar integration, and docked play now defaults to TV displays.
Why it matters
PC gamers will benefit from a more focused gaming experience on Windows 11 devices. The console-inspired interface makes it easier to access your games without desktop clutter getting in the way, whether you’re on a laptop, desktop, or tablet.
Limited impact for now since Xbox mode is rolling out selectively in certain markets, and Auto SR requires the ROG Xbox Ally X device. The features are currently available to Xbox Insiders participating in the preview program.
