Windows 11 Settings App Gets Animated Icons


It’s no longer a secret that Microsoft is working around the clock on killing off the classic Control Panel in Windows 11, and as part of this effort, the company is trying to make the experience with the new Settings app feel and work as modern as possible.

The Settings app is therefore getting updates every once in a while, and most recently, it received animated icons that make the experience feel a bit more dynamic.

For the time being, however, the animated icons are only displayed in the navigation bar, so it remains to be seen if the same treatment is supposed to make its way to all menus in the Settings app.

“We are beginning to roll out animated icons and illustrations in the Settings app. With the animated icons in the navigation bar, we continue growing our motion design principles to transform these familiar interactions from something purely functional to something that is also delightful,” Microsoft announced in the changelog of the most recent Window… (read more)
