Farever is an online co-op action RPG for PC from Shiro Games, available on Steam Early Access. You explore a vast open world called Siagarta, either alone or with up to a full group of friends. How to Download and Install on PC
Farever is on Steam for Windows 10 and Windows 11. You need a free Steam account to buy and play it. There is also a free demo you can try before purchasing.
- Step 1. Download and install the Steam app from store.steampowered.com if you do not have it already.
- Step 2. Open Steam and sign in to your account, or create a free one.
- Step 3. Search for Farever in the Steam store, or click the Steam button above to go straight to the game page.
- Step 4. Want to try before you buy? Click Download Demo on the store page to play the free demo first.
- Step 5. When you are ready to buy, click Add to Cart, complete your purchase, and the game will appear in your Steam Library.
- Step 6. Go to your Steam Library, find Farever, and click Install. The game needs 25 GB of free space.
- Step 7. Once installed, click Play. Pick your class, enter Siagarta, and invite friends from your Steam friends list when you are ready to group up.
What Is Farever?
Farever is an online co-op action RPG set in a handcrafted fantasy open world called Siagarta. You are not a chosen hero with a destiny. You are one adventurer among many, exploring a world full of dungeons, factions, world events, and hidden secrets. How you move around is one of the first things players notice: you can climb almost any surface, glide across canyons, and dive into underwater cave networks. The world goes deep as well as wide, and exploring every layer of it reveals new gear and challenges.
Combat is class-based but gear-driven. You pick from four available classes at Early Access launch, each covering a different role: damage, support, or survivability. What really shapes how you fight is the gear you find and craft. Each piece of equipment unlocks bonuses that stack on top of each other, so two players running the same class can end up fighting in completely different ways. Between dungeon runs you return to town to craft new gear, upgrade what you have, and stock up on potions and supplies for the next session.
Shiro Games is a French studio based in Bordeaux with a strong track record in Early Access. Northgard sold over 3 million copies across platforms. Wartales built its full game over an EA period that took player feedback seriously at every stage. Shiro Games has a clear pattern with Early Access: launch with a solid core, listen to the community, and finish the game they promised. Northgard and Wartales both followed that path. Farever is a bigger bet because it is their first multiplayer action RPG, and the genre is crowded. What works in its favor is how the world moves and how the gear system is built. Being able to climb anything, glide, and dive underwater gives Siagarta a depth that most co-op RPGs do not have. The automatic difficulty scaling means solo players are not punished for not having friends online, which is a smarter call than forcing people to group up. Early Access launched with two regions, four classes, a full crafting loop, and a published roadmap. That is a more complete package than many EA launches at this price point.
If you have a group that plays co-op games together, Farever is worth getting into now. The Early Access price is fair for what is already there, and more content is on the way. If you play solo and prefer story-driven RPGs with a clear beginning and end, this is not built for you. Farever is about exploring an open world and building a character over many sessions. There is no strong narrative driving it, and that will not change at full release.

5 Tips for Your First Sessions in Siagarta
The world of Farever is big. These five habits will save you a lot of time early on.
Try the demo before buying.
Farever has a free playable demo on Steam. The way you move around and how combat works are both different from most RPGs, and the demo is the fastest way to find out if that clicks for you before spending $19.99. Give it an hour. If the movement and combat feel right, the Early Access version will keep you busy for much longer.
Check your gear before swapping it out.
Farever’s gear system is about the bonuses items unlock, not just the raw numbers on them. A lower-level item might be worth keeping if what it unlocks fits how you fight better than a higher-level piece that works against it. Take a few seconds to read each new drop before tossing it. Getting this right early saves you a lot of backtracking later.
Explore vertically, not just horizontally.
Most players run along the ground and miss a lot of what Siagarta has to offer. You can climb almost any surface in this game. Scan cliffs, rooftops, and canyon walls for ledges and entrances. Some dungeons and hidden caches are only reachable from above or below ground. Gliding and swimming open up areas that look completely blocked at ground level. Use them early and often.
Invest in one crafting profession early.
The crafting system has gathering and crafting skills you level separately. Trying to do all of them at once early on means you stay weak at all of them for a long time. Pick one crafting job and stick with it. The recipes and bonuses you unlock at higher levels are strong enough to affect how you play in ways that normal gear drops just cannot.
Join world events whenever you see them.
World events pull in multiple players from across the map and run on a timer. The rewards from events are often better than what you get from solo dungeon runs at the same stage. Even if you are still building up your character, showing up and helping gets you gear and materials that speed up your progress. Do not skip events because you feel too weak. Joining a bigger group and getting through an event you could not solo is exactly how most players push past early walls.
