Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is a first-person survival horror game for PC from Saber Interactive, available on Steam. You play Aidan, who follows his girlfriend Sunny into Hell after a puzzle box tears her away. You fight a cult and its monsters with breakable melee weapons, guns and the powers of the box itself.

The puzzle box is what sets it apart from other horror shooters. The Genesis Configuration works as both a weapon and a key, throwing fire and objects at enemies and reshaping the Labyrinth to open new paths. Some monsters cannot be killed at all, so knowing when to run matters as much as aiming.

It launched on October 8, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. It is written with Hellraiser creator Clive Barker, and Doug Bradley returns as the voice of Pinhead. On PC it supports Windows 10 and 11, has full controller support and is single-player only.

What You Need to Know

  • On PC it is sold on Steam. There is no Epic Games Store version.

  • It is single-player only, with no co-op or online modes.
  • The PC requirements are modest for a new game: a GTX 1660 and 8 GB of RAM at minimum, with 80 GB of storage.
  • Mods already exist on Nexus Mods, and since there is no online play, they carry no ban risk.

Hellraiser: Revival Editions and Price

There are two editions on Steam. Both include the full story. The Deluxe Edition adds one extra melee weapon, plus cosmetics and digital extras for fans of the series.

Standard Edition
The full game

$39.99

  • The full story campaign
  • Every weapon and puzzle box power in the main game
Deluxe Edition
Game plus extras

$49.99

  • Everything in the standard game
  • “The Nailer” melee weapon
  • “Cenobite” shotgun skin, “Punisher” baseball bat skin and “Leviathan” weapon charm
  • Digital art book, soundtrack and the “Bleeding Hearts” novella
  • An ’80s horror movie filter

Prices are the US list prices on Steam, with regional prices elsewhere. The Collector’s Edition with physical collectibles was sold separately by Boss Team Games and is not a Steam edition.

☁️ Your PC is too weak? Cloud gaming is an option.

Hellraiser: Revival is on Boosteroid, which runs the game on its own hardware and streams it to you, so the graphics card and the 80 GB install are its problem, not yours. You still buy the game on Steam, then launch it through the service. Use a wired connection or strong Wi-Fi, since lag makes the chase scenes much harder.

What Is Hellraiser: Revival?

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is a new story set in the world of the Hellraiser films. Aidan, a biker, and his girlfriend Sunny open a puzzle box called the Genesis Configuration. It summons the Cenobites, beings from another dimension who treat pain and pleasure as the same thing.

Their leader, the Hell Priest known as Pinhead, takes Sunny with him. To get her back, Aidan makes his own deal with Pinhead, and has to fight through the Scarlet Church, a cult that worships the Cenobites and wants the box for a ritual of its own.

Pinhead, voiced once again by Doug Bradley.

You play in first person, switching between the real world and the Labyrinth, the Cenobites’ maze-like home. Melee weapons break after a set number of hits, so you keep picking up new ones. Blunt weapons such as bats crack armor, while blades work best on enemies with no protection. Guns hit harder but ammo is limited.

The Labyrinth. The box can shift its walls to open a path.

Between fights you solve puzzles, search for supplies, craft healing items and ammo, and trade for upgrades. Not every threat can be fought. Some Cenobites hunt you through chase scenes, and the only answer is to hide or run.

A firefight in the club the Scarlet Church hides behind.

Key Features

The puzzle box as a weapon

Telekinesis throws saw blades and rail spikes at enemies. Pyrokinesis soaks up fire and hurls it back.

Hell Chains

Brutal executions fill a Suffering meter, which powers the box’s strongest attack: hooked chains that tear enemies apart.

Weapons that break

Bats, knives and machetes wear out, so you keep scavenging. Pick blunt for armored foes and blades for the rest.

Enemies you cannot kill

Some Cenobites cannot be beaten in a fight. Chase scenes force you to sneak, hide or run for your life.

A Labyrinth that moves

Outside combat the box reshapes the Cenobites’ maze, opening new paths and solving puzzles.

Doug Bradley as Pinhead

The original Pinhead returns to the role, in a new story written with Clive Barker himself.

Our Take

🎮 Our Take

Hellraiser has waited a long time for a proper game of its own, and Revival gets the important part right: it treats the source seriously. Having Doug Bradley back and Clive Barker on the story gives it a voice no licensed spin-off has had. The puzzle box is the smart idea, because it ties the combat, the puzzles and the lore to one object instead of bolting powers onto a generic shooter. The weak spots are the ones survival horror often has: breakable weapons and forced chase scenes will annoy some players, and the content is extreme enough that it is simply not for everyone. On PC it asks for very little hardware, though the stutter-fix mods that showed up in launch week suggest it has some rough edges.

If you love the films or first-person horror like Resident Evil Village, buy it; the standard edition is enough, since Deluxe adds one weapon and cosmetics. If you are only curious, watch the trailer first and decide whether the tone works for you. If you want horror you can play with friends, Dead by Daylight, which includes Pinhead as a killer, is the better fit.

System Requirements

These are the requirements Saber Interactive published on Steam. It runs on 64-bit Windows 10 (22H2 or later) and Windows 11, and the hardware bar is low for a new release: a GTX 1660 from 2019 meets the minimum.

Hellraiser: Revival PC Requirements
As published on Steam
Component Minimum Recommended
OS Windows 10 64-bit, 22H2 or later Windows 10 64-bit, 22H2 or later
Processor Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X Intel Core i5-12400F / AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
Memory 8 GB RAM 16 GB RAM
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 / AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 (8 GB) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 / AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT
Storage 80 GB, SSD recommended 80 GB, SSD recommended

An SSD is not required, but Saber recommends one, and it shortens load times when you move between the real world and the Labyrinth. If your PC falls short, cloud gaming is the cheaper route.

Tips for Beginners

1

Match the weapon to the armor

Blunt weapons like bats break through armor. Save knives and machetes for enemies with no protection.

2

Do not get attached to a weapon

Every melee weapon breaks after a number of hits. Carry a spare and keep picking up new ones.

3

Finish enemies with executions

Executions build Suffering, the meter behind Hell Chains. Save that attack for a tough fight.

4

Run when you cannot win

Some Cenobites cannot be killed. When a chase starts, stop shooting, find cover and move.

5

Search every room

Supplies are tight. Open safes, grab crafting parts, and craft healing items and ammo before a big fight.

Best Hellraiser: Revival Mods to Start With

Hellraiser: Revival has no Steam Workshop. Mods come from Nexus Mods, and the first wave fixes things the PC version leaves out: a field of view setting, a way to hide the HUD and a stutter tweak. These four are the most useful to start with.

TrueFOV

Camera

By Reynbow

Widens the field of view (how much of the scene fits on screen) through an in-game menu you open with F6. You get separate settings for aiming and for your arms, and cutscenes keep their own framing. No mod loader needed.

View it on Nexus Mods

Toggle HUD and Effects

Display

By Akelaphobia

Hides the HUD with one key press, adds a minimal HUD option, and lets you switch the fog off if you find it too heavy. Good for screenshots and for a cleaner screen. It is built on ReShade (a free graphics add-on), which comes in the download.

View it on Nexus Mods

AutoLockpick

Quality of life

By Reynbow

If you carry a lockpick, locked doors, lockers and safes open on their own after the usual close-up. Press F7 to switch it off when you want to pick a lock yourself. Handy if the lock puzzle gets old on a second run.

View it on Nexus Mods

Less Stuttering

Performance

By carlu666

One line added to the game’s Engine.ini settings file that turns off AMD’s FidelityFX frame generation hook. The author saw smoother play with overlays like RivaTuner on an RTX 3060 Ti. Back up the file first, since results vary by PC.

View it on Nexus Mods

💡 These are fan-made mods, not official ones. The game is single-player only and has no anti-cheat, so there is no ban risk, but a game patch can break any of them until the author updates it. To remove a mod, delete the files it added to the game folder, or use Verify integrity of game files in Steam.

No. It is a single-player story game with no co-op and no online modes. It is not related to the Pinhead chapter in Dead by Daylight, which is a separate multiplayer game.
Do I need to watch the Hellraiser movies first?

How long is Hellraiser: Revival?
Expect roughly 10 to 15 hours for the story on normal difficulty. Searching every safe, crafting upgrades and chasing all 69 Steam achievements takes a lot longer.

The launch version uses a fixed field of view, according to the authors of the first FOV mods. The TrueFOV mod on Nexus Mods adds an in-game menu to widen it, with separate settings for aiming and for your arms.
