Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 update for members of its Windows Insider Program. The company announced the availability of Windows Insider Preview Build 29560.1000 specifically for the Canary Channel on Tuesday. The primary focus of Build 29560.1000 is on stability and foundational improvements. The update addresses three key problems reported by Insiders from previous "flights," or test builds. First, it resolves an issue that caused some users to experience an increase in system freezes. Second, it fixes a problem where attached USB devices stopped working for certain Insiders after a recent update. Third, Microsoft improved the reliability of a specific setting: returning the screensaver configuration back to "None." These fixes are part of the gradual "Control Feature Rollout" system, meaning they may initially be available only to a small subset of Canary Insiders with a specific toggle enabled before a wider release.
The Canary Channel is Microsoft’s most adventurous Insider tier. A critical reminder accompanies this build: these pre-release versions are intentionally unstable and often lack complete documentation. The builds in the Canary Channel represent the earliest stage of Windows development. They are not directly tied to any upcoming public version of Windows 11.
