Funnel Runners is a first-person co-op survival game for PC from Supernova Studios, available on Steam.

You and up to 7 friends get dropped into a doomed suburban town with one job: scavenge parts, fix your van, and get out before an F5 tornado catches you. Buildings collapse as the storm grows, items vanish with them, and every run plays out differently.

The tornado is the whole point, not a backdrop. Storms spawn randomly, grow stronger the longer you take, and tear apart the map piece by piece as they move. A building that had the fuel can you needed five minutes ago might not exist anymore, so the pressure to move fast and adapt never really lets up.

Funnel Runners launched on July 16, 2026, on Windows 11 and 10 (Early Access at the time of this writing). It plays solo or in co-op with up to 7 others.

How to Download Funnel Runners on PC

Funnel Runners is sold on Steam. You will need a Steam account to buy and launch it, and since this is a co-op game, it helps to have friends on Steam or a Discord group ready before your first run.

  • Step 1. Go to the Funnel Runners Steam page and click Add to Cart.
  • Step 2. Sign in to your Steam account, or create one for free if you don’t have one yet.
  • Step 3. Complete the purchase, then let Steam download and install the game automatically.
  • Step 4. Check your free disk space first. The install only needs 10GB, small compared to most modern co-op games.
  • Step 5. Make sure you have a stable internet connection, the game requires broadband to run co-op sessions.
  • Step 6. If you plan to play with friends, invite them through Steam’s built-in friends list and co-op invite system before starting a run.

What Is Funnel Runners?

Funnel Runners is a first-person co-op survival game built in Unreal Engine 5 by Supernova Studios, a small independent studio. You play a new hire at APEX Storm Monitoring Services, dropped into a suburban town with a broken-down van as an F5 tornado closes in. The job is simple to explain and hard to pull off: find van parts, fuel, and tools scattered across the collapsing city, repair the van, and drive away before the storm catches you.

The storm is the core mechanic, not set dressing. Tornados and secondary storms spawn on a random timer, grow stronger the longer a run goes, and physically destroy buildings and structures as they pass, which means loot you spotted earlier can be gone by the time you go back for it. Every run also randomizes the weather pattern, the map layout (3 variations at launch), and which specific van parts are broken, so no two sessions play out the same way.

You can tackle a run solo or split the work with up to 7 friends, sharing gadgets and covering more ground at once. The game currently ships with one biome (American Suburbs), 15 weather variations, 6 health and stamina items, 6 repairable van parts, and 6 gadgets, all mixed randomly per run.

Key Features

A Storm That Destroys the Map

Buildings collapse piece by piece as the tornado grows and moves, permanently changing where loot can and can’t be found mid-run.

Up to 8 Players, or Go Solo

Team up with 7 friends to split scavenging and repair work, or run the whole job alone if you prefer a tougher, more tense pace.

Fully Randomized Runs

Weather, map layout, van damage, and item locations all shuffle each time you start, so no two sessions play out the same.

First-Person, Grounded Presentation

Realistic graphics and sound design put you close to every gust of wind, siren, and piece of falling debris rather than a stylized cartoon storm.

Solo or Squad Flexibility

Take on a run alone for a tougher challenge, or split scavenging and repair work across a full 8-player group.

Small Install, Low Barrier to Entry

Just 10GB of storage and a fairly modest recommended GPU tier, making it easy to try with a group without a big commitment.

Is This Game for You?

You Will Love It If:

  • ✅ You want a tense co-op game built around a real ticking-clock threat
  • ✅ You like the idea of a map that physically changes and destroys itself as you play
  • ✅ You want something that keeps adding new content over time

You Might Not If:

  • ❌ You need a lot of map and biome variety right away
  • ❌ You want a deep single-player story campaign, this is session-based co-op
  • ❌ You want an offline mode, co-op sessions need a broadband connection

🎮 Our Take

Funnel Runners landed with a Very Positive rating on Steam, and the reason is easy to see once you understand the pitch: a co-op loot-and-repair game where the map itself is actively trying to kill you. The destructible environment is what separates it from other co-op survival games, since loot spots you memorized early in a run can be gone entirely by the time the storm passes over them. The tradeoff right now is content depth. Only one biome exists, and if you and your group burn through the 3 map variations quickly, it can start to feel repetitive.

If you have a regular squad looking for a tense, replayable co-op game to drop into for an hour at a time, this is worth buying now, the core loop already holds up well according to early reviews. If you want more map variety before committing, keep it on your wishlist and check back later.

Funnel Runners Mods

Funnel Runners does not have official Steam Workshop support yet, but a small community mod scene has already started on Nexus Mods.

1

StormChaos

A host-only tool that lets the session host spawn tornadoes on command, control weather and storm strength, and use freecam or noclip, handy for testing or content creation. It runs through UE4SS (a separate mod-loading tool for Unreal Engine games), not Steam Workshop, so it needs a manual install.

Requires UE4SS mod loader

Worth knowing: Supernova Studios has said broader mod support is something they plan to look into after launch based on what players ask for, so expect this list to grow. Only install mods from sources you trust, since UE4SS-based tools run code directly inside the game.

System Requirements

Minimum (1080p, Favor Performance)
  • OS: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-10400F or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GeForce GTX 1070 8GB or Radeon RX 580 8GB
  • Storage: 10 GB
  • Network: Broadband internet connection required
Recommended (1440p, Favor Visuals)
  • OS: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-11700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
  • Memory: 32 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, RTX 4070, or Radeon RX 6800 XT
  • Storage: 20 GB
  • Network: Broadband internet connection required
Heads up: a broadband internet connection is required at both tiers, even for solo play, since Funnel Runners is built around online co-op sessions. Storage needs are small (10 to 20GB) compared to most modern co-op titles.

Tips for Getting Started

1

Split up early, but stay within shouting distance

Covering more ground finds parts faster, but the storm can cut off a lone player’s path back to the van. Voice chat with your group before splitting so everyone knows the plan if the weather turns fast.

2

Grab fuel and tools before cosmetic loot

The van repair parts and fuel are what actually get you out. Prioritize those over exploring buildings that don’t obviously have what you need, especially once the wind starts picking up.

3

Watch buildings before you enter them

Structures take visible damage before they collapse. If a building is already missing walls or its roof looks unstable, treat it as a last resort, not your first stop.

4

Don’t ignore your stamina and health items

Getting caught in the open with low stamina when the wind picks up is one of the fastest ways to lose a run. Pick up health and stamina items along the way instead of saving your search for one final sweep.

5

Check for updates before a session

Supernova Studios ships regular updates. A quick check before a play session can save confusion if something changed since you last played.

Funnel Runners FAQ

Can I play Funnel Runners solo, or do I need a full group?
You can play solo or with up to 7 other players. Solo runs are harder since you have to scavenge and repair the van alone while the storm keeps closing in, but the game does not require a full squad to function.
Is there voice chat or does Funnel Runners rely on proximity chat?
The game supports online co-op through Steam, so you can use Steam’s built-in voice chat or any third-party voice app like Discord. Check the in-game audio settings for proximity-based options if you prefer to stay in character.
Does Funnel Runners have single-player progression or is it session-based only?
Each run is a self-contained session with randomized weather, map layout, and van damage, so there is no persistent single-player story campaign. Steam Achievements (35 total) track your progress across runs instead.
How much content is in the game right now?
Funnel Runners currently has one biome (American Suburbs) with 3 map variations, 15 weather variations, 6 health and stamina items, 6 van parts to repair, and 6 gadgets, all randomized per run. The developer’s roadmap lists plans for 3 to 4 more biomes down the line, including plains, mountain, and desert settings.
What are the system requirements for Funnel Runners on PC?
Minimum needs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), a Core i5-10400F or Ryzen 5 3600X, 16GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX 580, and 10GB of storage, running at 1080p on the Favor Performance preset. Recommended needs a Core i7-11700 or Ryzen 7 5800X, 32GB RAM, and an RTX 3070 Ti, RTX 4070, or Radeon RX 6800 XT for 1440p on the Favor Visuals preset.
