Microsoft announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5761 to the Dev Channel, which includes several new features and improvements. One of the notable updates is the ability to seamlessly resume apps from Android phones on Windows 11 PCs. This feature, which is being gradually rolled out, allows users to continue using their favorite apps from their Android phone on their Windows 11 PC. Initially, this feature will be available for the Spotify app, allowing users to resume listening to their favorite songs or episodes from where they left off on their Android phone.

To use this feature, users need to have the Link to Windows app set up on their Android phone and connect their phone to their Windows 11 PC. Once connected, users can start listening to a song or episode on their Android phone and then click on a Resume alert on their PC’s taskbar to continue playing the content on their PC. If the Spotify app is not installed on the PC, clicking on the alert will initiate a one-click installation from the Microsoft Store.

In addition to this feature, the update also includes improved battery iconography on the lock screen, which provides a quick glance at the battery status of the PC. Other changes include new keyboard shortcuts, such as WIN + Minus (-) to insert an En dash (–) and WIN + Shift + Minus (-) to insert an Em dash (—).

The update also includes several fixes for various issues, including improvements to the performance of loading the apps list on the Apps & Settings page and fixes for issues with Windows Hello and game performance. Microsoft is also inviting app developers to integrate with the Resume feature to offer users the ability to seamlessly continue tasks from their phone app on their PC app.

As with any update, there are also some known issues, including an issue with Recall not working correctly on PCs in the EEA region and an issue with File Explorer displaying the Shared section even when there is no content to display. Microsoft is investigating these issues and will provide updates in future releases.

Overall, the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5761 brings several new features and improvements to the Dev Channel, and Microsoft is encouraging users to provide feedback on these changes through the Feedback Hub. As the development of Windows 11 continues, users can expect to see more features and improvements rolled out in future updates.
