Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.5733 for users in the Beta Channel. The update targets Windows Insiders running version 24H2 of the operating system. This release brings a mix of new improvements, fixes, and some known issues.

One of the notable changes affects users signed in with work or school accounts (Entra ID). These users will now see people icons in the “Activity” column on File Explorer Home and under the “Recommended” section. Hovering or clicking these icons will show the Live Persona Card from Microsoft 365.

In Settings, the option to manage Bing search history has been removed from Privacy & Security > Search. Users are now directed to the Bing Privacy Dashboard to manage their search history.

Several fixes target common issues in past builds. The Start menu no longer crashes for some users, and the taskbar thumbnail preview now works correctly after mouse滑 errors. Additionally, lock screen widgets are now displaying correctly, and multi-finger touchpad gestures are functioning again.

However, this build comes with several known issues. Some users may face problems during installation, such as error code 0x80070005. Microsoft is working on a fix, but users can try using Settings > System > Recovery > “Fix issues using Windows Update” as a temporary workaround. There’s also a new issue with apps crashing due to dao360.dll, which is currently under investigation.

The Start menu may display an excessive number of alphabetical categories with blank icons after updating, though switching views might fix this temporarily. In dark mode, some colors in File Explorer, such as those indicating low drive space, may appear incorrect or hard to see.

Click to Do (Preview) is experiencing delays on AMD or Intel Copilot+ PCs when performing text actions for the first time after an update. Live Captions may crash on Copilot+ devices when using real-time translation, and some users report PC crashes linked to Xbox Controllers connected via Bluetooth. A temporary fix involves uninstalling the specific Xbox driver from Device Manager.

Users in the Beta Channel should note that features and updates are delivered through a new servicing approach. Some improvements are rolled out slowly using Controlled Feature Rollout, based on user feedback. Features tested in this preview may or may not appear in future stable versions of Windows 11.

Microsoft提醒 users that some features may not yet be fully translated or accessible, and encourages reporting issues via Feedback Hub.

For up-to-date build information and channel status, users are encouraged to visit the Flight Hub website.
