EA SPORTS FC 27 is a football game for PC from EA Vancouver and EA Romania, available on Steam and the Epic Games Store. You play real clubs and national teams in quick matches, run a club for years in Career mode, or build a squad of player cards in Ultimate Team.

The big addition this year is The Grounds, a shared street football hub. Up to 100 players walk around one open neighborhood together and drop into small-sided games on pitches around the city. Clubs, the mode where friends each control one player, now lives inside it.

It launched on September 25, 2026. It runs on 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, has full controller support, and plays cross platform with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.

How to Download EA SPORTS FC 27 on Windows

Steam and the Epic Games Store sell the same game, and both hand you off to the EA app to run it. Start the download well before you plan to play, because it is 100 GB.

  • Step 1. Open the EA SPORTS FC 27 page on Steam or the Epic Games Store page.
  • Step 2. Pick the Standard Edition, or the Ultimate Edition if you want its FC Points and Career extras.
  • Step 3. Sign in to your Steam or Epic account, or make a free one, then pay.
  • Step 4. Clear 100 GB on an SSD and start the install from your library.
  • Step 5. Let the EA app install when the game asks for it. It has to run in the background every time you play.
  • Step 6. Sign in with your EA account and link it to Steam or Epic. The link is permanent, so pick the EA account you mean to keep.
  • Step 7. Let the game finish its first update before you start a mode.
  • Step 8. Plug in a controller. Keyboard works, but the game is built around a gamepad.

💡 Not sure yet? FC 27 Lite is free on Steam, and EA Play members can play the full game for 10 hours. Both carry your progress into the paid version on the same platform and EA account. Our FC 27 Lite guide covers what the free version includes.

Price and Editions

EA SPORTS FC 27 on PC
The same matches in every version, the difference is which modes and extras you get
Edition Price What you get
FC 27 Lite Free Kick-Off with a selection of clubs, Learn to Play, Online Friendlies and Online Seasons. No Ultimate Team, no Career and no The Grounds.
Standard $69.99 The full game: Ultimate Team, Manager and Player Career, The Grounds with Clubs, and every other mode.
Ultimate $99.99 Adds 6,000 FC Points paid out over three months, an extra Ultimate Team Player Evolution slot, three ICON or Hero players in Career, 5-star scouts and a 5-star coach in Manager Career, and cosmetics and boosts for The Grounds.

FC Points are the paid currency for Ultimate Team packs and cosmetics. That makes the Ultimate Edition mainly an Ultimate Team purchase. If you only play Career and Kick-Off, the Standard Edition gives you everything that matters.

Steam’s refund policy covers you on either paid edition: under two hours played and under fourteen days since buying gets your money back. EA Play also takes 10 percent off EA purchases, including this one.

What Is EA SPORTS FC 27?

EA SPORTS FC 27 is EA’s yearly football game, the series that was called FIFA until 2023. It carries the real licenses: EA says it has more than 21,000 players from over 800 clubs and national teams, more than 140 stadiums and over 35 leagues.

There are three main ways to play. Ultimate Team builds a squad from player cards and plays it online or against the computer, Career runs a club or one player’s career over many seasons, and Kick-Off is a quick match with any two teams. Online Seasons and local matches on one PC round out the familiar modes.

A caged street pitch in The Grounds. Small-sided games like this one run all over the city.

This year’s changes run through every mode. On the pitch, EA points to dynamic corners, smarter attacking runs and more manual, player-focused defending. Career gets a rebuilt Transfer Market, and Ultimate Team adds a collection system called the FUT Gallery. The biggest addition is The Grounds, which gets its own section below. You need the EA app and an EA account whichever store you buy from.

The Grounds, Explained

EA calls The Grounds “a football playground where the streets meet the stadium”. In practice it is a shared online hub. You walk your own custom player around a city with other people, and every pitch in it is a match you can join.

The map

One city, three districts

Up to 100 players share the map. A central Terrace links Montclair, built on French city football, Zeiza, built on Argentina’s street game, and Parkside, built on English grassroots football.

Quick games

Small-sided matches

1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 games and Rush run on pitches around the city. Kickabouts are mini-games such as Bocce Ball, Balloon Ball, Bucket Ball and Team Keepaway.

Clubs

Your team, 11 against 11

Clubs, where you and friends each control one player, now lives inside The Grounds. Leagues, Playoffs, Club Tournaments and 11v11 Drop-In games run in the stadium.

Your player

Built by play, not by level

Your avatar plays as an Archetype, a set play style, and every Archetype is open from the start. Masteries add permanent stat boosts, and Amps are boost items in four tiers.

Four mentors guide new players: Kylian Mbappe, Chloe Kelly, Paulo Dybala and Alex Hunter. The Grounds is in the PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S and Switch 2 versions only. Source: EA’s The Grounds and Clubs deep dive.

Key Features

Gameplay
On the pitch
01
Defending you control

EA tuned defending around the player you are controlling, aimed at competitive play. You do more of the work yourself and lean less on the computer.

02
Smarter attacking runs

Attacking awareness, how well players without the ball read space and make runs, is one of the gameplay areas EA says it improved this year.

03
Ratings built on real matches

Match data from the world’s top leagues feeds the ratings of more than 21,000 licensed players, so ratings follow how players perform in real matches.

Career
Manager and Player
01
A rebuilt Transfer Market

Clubs now bid against each other for players, and values are based on real-world data from TransferRoom. You can write performance and buy-back clauses into a deal.

02
Ratings that move with form

Dynamic OVRs change a player’s overall rating with his form, morale and fitness. A striker on a cold run carries a lower rating until he finds form again.

03
Career rivalries

Player Career adds rivalries with teammates who want your spot. You play for a starting place, not just for goals and ratings.

Ultimate Team
Squad building
01
The FUT Gallery

A collection you fill with your favorite player items. Filling sets raises your Gallery Level and pays out rewards and club customization.

02
Challenges that add up

Squad Building Challenges (trade players in for a reward) now let you submit items across several tries toward a target score.

03
Bigger match rewards

EA raised the coins you earn after each Ultimate Team match at launch, so normal play builds a squad faster than it did in FC 26.

Is This Game for You?

You will love it if

  • ✅ You play Clubs, or you always wanted a street mode you could walk around in with friends
  • ✅ You run long Career saves and the transfer market was the part that felt fake
  • ✅ You want real clubs, real players and real stadiums
  • ✅ You play online against friends on PS5 or Xbox
  • ✅ You play matches with a friend on the same PC

You might not if

  • ❌ You bought FC 26 and only play Kick-Off, which changes least from year to year
  • ❌ You dislike paid packs, which are part of Ultimate Team
  • ❌ You want a game with no launcher, since the EA app has to run in the background
  • ❌ You are short on drive space, at 100 GB
  • ❌ You wanted to stream it, since no cloud service carries it on PC

🎮 Our Take

The Grounds is the first change in years that alters how you spend an evening with this game, not just how a match plays. Putting Clubs, street games and a social hub in one open city gives friends a place to meet that feels like somewhere, not a menu, and it is a reason to play together that has nothing to do with Ultimate Team. The Career changes are the other real win. Clubs bidding against you and ratings that follow form fix the parts of Career that felt most like a spreadsheet.

What has not changed is the business model. Ultimate Team runs on packs you can buy with FC Points, and the Ultimate Edition is built around them. If you play Clubs or long Career saves, the Standard Edition is an easy buy this year. If you mostly play quick matches and already own FC 26, start with FC 27 Lite or the EA Play trial and see whether the new gameplay feels different enough to pay for.

Why Play on PC?

  • The full current-generation game. The PC version matches PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, with The Grounds and the full Clubs mode. The PS4, Xbox One and original Switch versions do not have The Grounds.
  • Crossplay with consoles. PC players share matchmaking with PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, so you are not stuck in a smaller PC-only pool.
  • Frame rate and graphics control. EA aims the recommended spec at 1080p and 60 fps on Medium, and a stronger PC can push past that. Consoles give you fixed settings.
  • Any controller you own. Xbox pads, DualShock and DualSense controllers all work, and DualSense support is listed on Steam.

System Requirements

Minimum, 720p at 60fps on Low
  • OS: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, latest update
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel Core i5-6600K
  • Memory: 8 GB dual channel DDR4 RAM
  • Graphics: AMD RX 570 or Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 100 GB, SSD recommended
  • Network: Broadband internet
Recommended, 1080p at 60fps on Medium
  • OS: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, latest update
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or Intel Core i7-6700
  • Memory: 12 GB dual channel RAM
  • Graphics: AMD RX 5600 XT or Nvidia GTX 1660
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 100 GB on an SSD, required
  • Network: Broadband internet
These specs are gentle for a 2026 release. A GTX 1050 Ti from 2016 meets the minimum. The two lines to watch are storage and the drive type: 100 GB is a lot of space, and at the recommended level EA lists an SSD as required, not suggested. Commentary in a language other than English and your store language is a separate download on top.

Tips for Beginners

1

Check form before you sign a player

With Dynamic OVRs, a player\’s rating moves with his form, morale and fitness. Look at how he has been playing lately, not just the number on his card, before you spend your transfer budget.

2

Link the right EA account

Your purchase is tied to one EA account and one Steam or Epic account for good. Sign in with the account that holds your older FC progress before you link.

3

Follow a mentor in The Grounds

Each mentor runs a path of tasks. Chloe Kelly’s covers Kickabouts and Paulo Dybala’s covers Clubs, and both are the fastest way to learn the city.

4

Use buy-back clauses in Career

When you sell a young player you are not sure about, add a buy-back clause. If he develops at his new club, you can bring him home at a fixed price.

5

Play matches before you buy packs

EA raised Ultimate Team coin rewards after each match at launch. Coins from normal play go further this year, so give them a few weeks before spending FC Points.

EA SPORTS FC 27 FAQ

Can two people play FC 27 on the same PC?
Yes. Steam lists shared and split screen play for both head-to-head and co-op matches, so two players can share one PC. The easiest setup is a controller for each player.
Can I play EA SPORTS FC 27 on PC with friends on PS5 or Xbox?
Yes. PC is grouped with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S for crossplay, and it is on by default. PS4 and Xbox One players are in a separate pool, and the Switch versions have no crossplay at all. To turn it off, open EA Connect from the main menu, then Social settings, then Cross-play settings.
Will my Ultimate Team from PlayStation or Xbox move to PC?
No. EA only carries progress across consoles in the same family, such as PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X and S. A club you built on a console does not move to PC, and a PC club does not move to a console.
Is The Grounds in every version of FC 27?
No. The Grounds, and the Clubs mode inside it, is in the PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions only. The PS4, Xbox One and original Switch versions leave it out.
Do I need an internet connection to play?
Yes. EA lists an internet connection, an EA account and the EA app as requirements to play on both Steam and Epic, and the game activates online. Most of the new content, including The Grounds and Ultimate Team, is online only.
What are the system requirements for EA SPORTS FC 27 on PC?
Minimum is 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel Core i5-6600K, 8 GB of RAM, an AMD RX 570 or Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti, DirectX 12 and 100 GB of space. Recommended moves up to a Ryzen 7 2700X or Core i7-6700, 12 GB of RAM, an RX 5600 XT or GTX 1660, and an SSD.
