Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26300.8085 (KB 5079483) to the Dev Channel of the Windows Insider Program. This pre-release build is part of the ongoing testing process for future Windows 11 updates. Changes in the Dev Channel are introduced in two ways: some features and fixes roll out gradually to a small subset of Insiders who have enabled a specific setting, while others become available to everyone in the channel over time.
One of the headline additions is the resuming rollout of the Pointer Indicator accessibility feature. This tool is designed for low vision users, helping them more easily locate and use the mouse cursor on screen. To use it, users must navigate to Settings, then Accessibility, and finally Mouse pointer and touch to enable the Pointer indicator setting. Once active, the feature can be quickly toggled on or off using the keyboard shortcut Win + Ctrl + Shift + X. Microsoft states this feature aims to improve productivity and efficiency for its target users and is actively seeking feedback on the cursor and crosshair experience through the Feedback Hub.
Several system improvements are also included. The Windows Magnifier tool now has the capability to magnify protected content, a notable enhancement for certain use cases. A fix addresses a bug in the Network and Sharing Center where it incorrectly showed two active Wi-Fi connections after a user switched networks; the display now correctly shows only the single active connection. For input reliability, the build improves the stability of the explorer.exe process when closing the input flyout and fixes issues related to configuring the fluid dictation option within voice typing settings (activated by the Windows key plus H).
A significant user interface change arrives with a completely redesigned Feedback Hub app, available as an update for Insiders in both the Dev and Canary channels. The new streamlines the feedback process with a single, unified submission template that includes a searchable category list. Navigation has been simplified, moving "My Feedback" directly into the main pane and replacing "All feedback" with a "Community feedback" section to better surface input from other users. A new feedback type called "compliment" allows users to specifically note what works well. Users can now also choose whether their submitted feedback is private or public to the Insider community. A new, smaller "focused feedback" surface makes submitting quick feedback easier, with an option to expand into the full application. The screenshot capture and review tool has been enhanced, letting users highlight, hide, or crop images before attaching them.
These updates arrive with standard reminders for Dev Channel participants. Microsoft uses Controlled Feature Rollout technology, meaning new features start with a limited group of Insiders and expand based on feedback and stability monitoring before reaching everyone. A desktop watermark in the lower right corner is normal for these pre-release builds. Insiders can opt to receive the newest features as soon as they are available by turning on a toggle in **Settings > Windows Update***; leaving it off means features will arrive more slowly over time. Microsoft cautions that any feature in the Dev Channel may be altered or removed entirely before a final release, and some may never ship. Not all features are fully localized at this stage, and users are encouraged to report language-specific issues.
Looking ahead, Insiders are encouraged to test the new Pointer Indicator, the updated Feedback Hub, and the various system fixes. Their feedback through the Feedback Hub is critical for shaping the final versions of these features. The gradual rollout approach means not every Insider will see all changes immediately. The presence of these features in the Dev Channel suggests they are under active consideration for future Windows 11 updates, but their final form and release timing remain subject to change based on testing results. Insiders should monitor official channels for further updates on feature availability and rollouts.
