Microsoft has rolled out a new preview build of Windows 11, targeting members of its Dev Channel program. The update, identified as Build 26200.5733 (KB5062673), includes a range of new features, improvements, and bug fixes for early testers of the operating system.
This release is part of Microsoft’s ongoing development for Windows 11, version 25H2, and uses an “enablement package” for Dev Channel users. The update introduces changes in areas like File Explorer, Settings, and Start menu behavior.
In File Explorer, users signed in with work or school accounts (Entra ID) may now see people icons under the “Activity” column and in “Recommended” sections. Hovering over these icons shows a Live Persona Card from Microsoft 365.
Under Settings, Microsoft has removed the option to manage Bing search history. Users can now access this directly through the Privacy dashboard, found under “Related settings.”
The update also fixes several bugs. The Start menu crash affecting some users has been resolved. Problems with taskbar preview thumbnails, lock screen widgets, and multi-finger touchpad gestures have also been addressed.
However, there are known issues with this build. Some users may encounter a rollback error (0x80070005) during installation. Others using Visual Studio on Arm64 PCs may experience crashes. In dark mode, incorrect colors may appear in File Explorer for drives with low space. Additionally, some users may see alphabetically grouped but blank icons in the Start menu.
Other reported problems include unpinned apps on the taskbar, issues with Click to Do (Preview) on Intel or AMD Copilot+ PCs, and Live Captions crashing during translation.
Users with Xbox Controllers connected via Bluetooth are also experiencing system crashes. Microsoft has provided steps via Device Manager to uninstall a problematic driver and resolve this issue.
