ANOMALITH is a survival third-person shooter for PC from FURYU, available on Steam. Strange Anomaly Zones have swallowed parts of Japan, and 17-year-old Reona Minazuki goes in after her missing best friend. You dive into each Zone, fight the creatures inside, grab what you can carry, and get out alive.

The Zones are what make it stand out. They are everyday Japanese places that broke: an apartment block with upside-down gravity, a hallway that twists, a shopping street that keeps copying itself. The look borrows from old Showa-era Japan (roughly the 1950s to 1980s) and the empty, too-quiet feel of liminal spaces.

It came out on October 28, 2026. On PC it needs Windows 11 and has full controller support. FURYU made it with Winning Entertainment Group, with music by Yuka Kitamura, known for her work on the Dark Souls series and Elden Ring.

What Is ANOMALITH?

ANOMALITH is a single-player shooter about going into places that should not exist. Reona was trapped with her best friend Arisa when a shopping mall turned into an Anomaly Zone, and the two were split up. To find her, Reona joins the government-backed Anomaly Zone Countermeasures Office as a Diver, the name for its field agents.

Reona fires a rifle at a pale humanoid Anomaly standing in the aisle of an abandoned train car

Anomalies are the creatures living inside each Zone.

On her first Dive, the other Divers die and a strange power wakes up inside her. That is where the story starts. The writing comes from Romeo Tanaka, and the characters were designed by the artist MON.

Each mission follows the same shape: Dive, retrieve, return. You go into a Zone, fight the creatures called Anomalies, pick up strange objects, and head for the exit. Ammo is limited and so is your bag, so you choose what is worth carrying home. Back at base, those finds turn into new weapons and gear.

Key Features

Broken everyday places

Explore apartment blocks with upside-down gravity, twisting hallways and shopping streets that copy themselves without end.

Gunfights with limits

Pick the right gun for each fight and watch your ammo. Running dry deep inside a Zone is a real problem.

12 Anomalization Skills

Reona’s powers help in gunfights and can turn a fight around. Some are for attack, some for defense.

Gun attachments and Artifacts

Fit attachments to shape each gun for how you play, and equip Artifacts from the Zones to raise your stats.

Nine-part gear

Gear is split into nine parts, and each piece changes Reona’s stats. You can still dress her however you like without losing those stats.

Dive Reports

Beat Anomalies to unlock files on how each one lives and behaves, and play side missions that fill in the other characters’ stories.

Our Take

🎮 Our Take

ANOMALITH has one of the more original settings we have seen in a shooter lately. Plenty of games do ruined cities. Far fewer take a plain Japanese apartment block or shopping street and quietly break it, and the dive-and-extract loop gives every trip a bit of tension, because you are always deciding whether one more room is worth the ammo. The team behind it is also a strong sign: a Romeo Tanaka story, MON character art and a Yuka Kitamura score. The open questions are length and variety. A loop built on repeat Dives can wear thin if the Zones and enemies do not keep changing, and the $49.99 price asks a lot more than a typical indie.

If the setting grabs you, or you liked the free demo, buy it, and pick Standard unless you want the extra guns early. If you are unsure, play the demo first, it is free and shows you both the combat and how well it runs on your PC. If you only want co-op, English voices, or Windows 10 support, skip it.

Why Play ANOMALITH on PC?

  • Mouse aim: It is a shooter first. A mouse gives you faster, finer aim than a thumbstick, and switching to a controller still works any time.
  • Your controller works: Steam lists full controller support, including DualSense features on a PlayStation 5 controller.
  • Cloud saves: Steam Cloud keeps your progress, so you can move between a desktop, a laptop and a Steam Deck.
  • A free demo first: The Steam demo lets you test performance on your own hardware before you spend anything.

Tips for Beginners

1

Count your ammo before you go deeper

Ammo is limited inside a Zone. If you are running low, head for the exit with what you have rather than risk losing the trip.

2

Carry what you can build with

Your bag has limited room. Favor the objects you need for the next weapon or gear upgrade over random extras.

3

Match the gun to the Anomaly

Each Anomaly behaves differently. Swap weapons for each fight instead of using one gun for everything.

4

Use your skills, not just your guns

Anomalization Skills can control a fight. Mix attack and defense skills into your gunfights from the start.

5

Read the Dive Reports

Every Anomaly you beat unlocks a report on how it behaves. They tell you what to expect the next time you meet it.
