Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is a kaiju arena fighter for PC from Atari and Pipeworks Studios, available on Steam. You pick one of 12 giant monsters and fight up to three others across cities you can level. Punch, grab, fire energy blasts, or pick up a skyscraper and throw it.
It is a rebuild of the 2002 GameCube game, made by the same studio. The big addition is online multiplayer, which the original never had. Local play for up to four people is still here too.
It came out on November 3, 2026. It runs on Windows 10 and 11, with full controller support, and is also on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.

What Is Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered?
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is a remaster of Pipeworks’ 2002 arena fighter, first released on GameCube and then Xbox. Aliens called the Vortaak have taken control of Earth’s monsters, and you fight your way through them city by city. The fights happen in 8 locations, each with a day and night version: real-world cities, Monster Island and the alien Mothership.
Godzilla 2000 tearing through a city. Buildings crumble as you fight.
The arenas are part of the fight. You can pick up buildings and landmarks and throw them at your opponent. Each monster has its own moves: close-range hits, charged energy blasts and Rage attacks that fire once a meter fills. Power-ups drop during matches too, like Mothra, who sweeps the map with an air strike.
Single-player has an Adventure mode with a campaign for each monster, plus Gauntlet and Challenge versions, and Destruction mode, where you score points by leveling the city. Multiplayer covers Versus and free-for-all Melee fights, locally or online. Points earned in every mode unlock monsters, stages and gallery art in any order you like.
Destoroyah picks up a building to throw at Kiryu.

The Full Kaiju Roster
The roster has 12 monsters. Eleven come from the 2002 original, and the Showa-era Mechagodzilla is the one new face. Most are open from the start or unlock with points as you play.
Looking for the newer movie monsters? They are not here. The roster sticks to the classic lineup, with Burning Millennium Godzilla offered only as a Deluxe skin.
Key Features
Every monster has its own moves, from fast fliers like Rodan to heavy hitters like Destoroyah.
Grab buildings and landmarks and hurl them. The arenas are weapons, not just backdrops.
New to the remaster. Fight other players online, not just friends on the couch.
Up to four people on one screen, in Versus or free-for-all Melee fights.
Points from every mode buy monsters, stages and gallery art, so you choose what opens next.
Remastered from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5, with day and night versions of every location.

Our Take
🎮 Our Take
This is a faithful remaster, and that is its strength and its limit. Having the original studio rebuild it means the slow, heavy feel of the 2002 game survived, and throwing a skyscraper at Destoroyah is still the best part. Online play and any-order unlocks fix the two things the original lacked most. What to weigh: the roster is the old lineup plus one, so there are no newer movie monsters, and solo players will spend a lot of time earning points to open everything.
If you have friends and spare controllers, or you played the original, buy it. At $29.99 it is a cheap party game, and the base game is all you need. If you play alone and want a deep fighting game, this is not built for that, so watch the trailer first.
Why Play It on PC?
- Remote Play Together: Steam lets online friends join your local four-player match, even if they do not own the game.
- Higher framerates: On a strong PC you can push past console limits, which keeps big brawls smooth.
- Any controller: Full controller support on Steam, so Xbox, PlayStation and most other pads work.
- Low install size: It needs only 8 GB, so it fits on almost any PC next to bigger games.
System Requirements
These are the requirements Atari lists on Steam. The memory asks are high for an 8 GB game: 16 GB of RAM minimum and 32 GB recommended. Only NVIDIA cards are named, so AMD and Intel owners should compare against the GTX 1650 and GTX 1070.
Seeing screen tearing? A launch-day hotfix turned VSync on by default, so check that it is on in the settings. Below the minimum spec? Cloud gaming runs it on a remote PC instead. If you would rather upgrade, our Best Gaming Desktops guide is a good place to start.
Tips for Beginners
Use a controller
Steam marks it Gamepad Recommended. Movement and grabs feel far better on a pad than on a keyboard.
Throw what is around you
Buildings and landmarks are free damage. Grab one when your opponent is out of reach instead of walking over.
Charge blasts from a distance
Charged energy blasts take time to build. Fire them when you have room, not when an enemy is in your face.
Save Rage for the finish
Your Rage meter fills as you fight. Holding it for a low-health opponent often ends the round.
Play every mode for points
Points from all modes unlock monsters, stages and gallery art. Pick the unlocks you want first, since the order is up to you.
