CorelDRAW is built for real print work: logos, brochures, signs and labels that go from screen to paper.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite is a design suite for Windows from Corel, available from the official CorelDRAW website. You use it to draw logos, lay out flyers and brochures, edit photos and send print-ready files to a sign shop or printer, all from one set of apps.
Most design apps now push you into a subscription. CorelDRAW sells a one-time purchase you keep for good, next to its yearly plan. That choice, plus strong print and sign-making tools, is why it has stayed popular with small businesses.
It runs on Windows 11 and Windows 10 (64-bit) and comes with a free 15-day trial, no credit card needed. The current version adds AI tools that turn a typed description into editable vector art.
Below: the main tools with screenshots, what your PC needs, how the plans and AI credits work, and how it stacks up against Illustrator and the free Affinity app. Questions? Reach out to us directly.
What Is CorelDRAW Graphics Suite?
It is a bundle of design apps, not one program. You install them together and move files between them.
- CorelDRAW: the main app, for vector drawing (shapes that stay sharp at any size) and page layout.
- Corel PHOTO-PAINT: a layer-based photo editor for cutouts, color fixes and cleanup.
- Corel Font Manager: organizes your fonts and lets you use them without installing each one.
- CorelDRAW Web: a browser version for quick edits away from your PC, for subscribers only.
Sign makers, print shops, T-shirt and embroidery businesses and in-house marketing teams are the core audience. If your designs end up on vinyl, fabric, packaging or a printed page, CorelDRAW is built around that kind of output.
Key Features of CorelDRAW on Windows
The screenshots below come from Corel’s own product pages for the current version.
Turn a text prompt into editable vectors
Describe what you want, pick a model, and Text-to-vector builds it as real vector shapes, not a flat picture. You can then select any shape and change its color, curve or size like art you drew yourself.
You can also feed it your own logo as a reference, which is handy for quick billboard, flyer or merch ideas built around an existing brand.
Trace photos and sketches into clean shapes
PowerTRACE turns a bitmap (a photo or scanned drawing made of pixels) into vector shapes you can scale and edit. The newer version groups shapes more sensibly, handles color better and can strip the background with AI as it traces.
For sign and vinyl-cutting work, this is often the feature people buy CorelDRAW for.
Generate images from a description
Type a prompt, choose an AI model, aspect ratio and an optional style or color palette, and CorelDRAW or PHOTO-PAINT creates a bitmap image. It is useful for backgrounds, mockups and concept art.
Remix an existing photo with a prompt
Upload a photo and describe the change, like swapping a chair for a mid-century one. The Remix Image tab uses Google’s Nano Banana model to edit the scene while keeping the rest of the picture.
Remove backgrounds in one click
Select a photo and click Remove background. It handles fine edges like hair, petals and fabric, which is the slow part of cutting out product shots by hand.
Mask a subject in PHOTO-PAINT
Mask from subject finds the person or object for you and builds a selection you can refine. Clip masking then lets you edit inside that shape without touching the rest of the image.
Keep working in your browser
Subscribers get CorelDRAW Web, which runs in Chrome or Edge. It now accepts your own uploaded fonts and can export DWG and DXF files (the formats laser cutters and CAD programs read), so a quick fix does not have to wait until you are back at your PC.
Export every page and size in one go
The Export panel lets you list pages and objects, give each its own format and size, and save them all with one click. One design can come out as a 300 dpi PNG for print and an EPS for the sign shop at the same time.
Free Pantone colors
Pantone palettes (the standard color system printers use) are built into CorelDRAW and PHOTO-PAINT at no extra cost, so the green on your screen matches the green on the printed sign.
Fonts without the clutter
Corel Font Manager connects to more than 1,700 Google Fonts families and lets you use a font in a project without installing it into Windows first.
CorelDRAW System Requirements
A mid-range PC from the last several years runs it fine. The one part people miss is the graphics card: Corel asks for 3 GB of video memory (VRAM).
On a Snapdragon or other Arm laptop? Corel only lists Intel and AMD processors for Windows. Use the free trial to check it runs well on your machine before you pay. Full specs: CorelDRAW product page.
How to Get CorelDRAW on Windows
Start with the trial. It is the full suite, and you can switch it to a paid plan later without reinstalling.
1 Open the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite page.
2 Click Try free. No credit card is needed for the 15-day trial.
3 Run the downloaded installer from your Downloads folder.
4 Sign in with your Corel account, or create a free one when asked.
5 Open CorelDRAW from the Start menu and pick a blank page or a template.
Test your own files during the trial. Open a logo a client sent you, export a PDF for your printer and try a PowerTRACE job. That tells you more in an hour than any feature list.

How Much Does CorelDRAW Cost?
You choose between renting it by the year and buying one version outright. Corel runs frequent sales on the first year of the annual plan, so check the live price before you buy.

Subscription vs One-Time Purchase
The one-time version stops growing
You keep it forever, but it gets no new features and Corel does not promise it will keep working on future Windows versions. Several features, including CorelDRAW Web, are subscriber only.
Maintenance is the middle road
Corel sells a yearly maintenance add-on for license owners. While it is active you get the latest version and monthly AI credits. If you stop paying, you keep the last version you received.
How AI credits work
Only the generative tools use credits: Text-to-vector, image generation and Remix. Subscribers get 2,000 a month. One-time buyers get 2,000 once, which never expire. Extra packs are on the credit packs page.
Your artwork stays yours
Corel states that your work in CorelDRAW is never used to train its AI features or third-party AI models. Background removal and masking run without credits.
CorelDRAW vs Illustrator vs Affinity
Most people choosing CorelDRAW are also looking at Adobe Illustrator, and since late 2025 at Affinity, which Canva now gives away free. Here is how the three line up on what matters to a buyer.
Our take
If your clients and team live in Adobe files, Illustrator saves you friction. If you are learning or on no budget, try Affinity or Inkscape first, both free. CorelDRAW earns its price when your work goes to print, vinyl or fabric, when you trace a lot of artwork, or when you simply refuse to rent your tools: it is the only one of the three you can buy outright. Check Illustrator plans and Affinity for their current terms.
Who Should Use CorelDRAW?
- You make signs, labels, packaging, apparel or print layouts
- You trace logos and artwork into vectors often
- You want to own your software instead of renting it
- You only make quick social posts; Canva is faster for that
- You need a free tool; Affinity and Inkscape cost nothing
- Your whole team works in Adobe Creative Cloud
- Clients send complex Illustrator files; effects and linked images may need cleanup
- You buy the one-time version and plan to use the AI tools a lot
- Your PC has a graphics card with less than 3 GB of VRAM
Tips for Getting Started with CorelDRAW
1 Pick a workspace that fits your job. CorelDRAW ships with layouts for different kinds of work and can import the one from your old version, so your tools sit where you expect.
2 Start from a template. Business cards, flyers and social posts are ready to edit, which is quicker than setting up page sizes and bleed by hand.
3 Use the Objects docker. It lists every shape and text box. Rename, hide and lock things there instead of hunting for them on the page.
4 Save AI credits for the final ideas. Background removal and masking are free to run. Only prompts that generate or remix art use credits.
5 Proof every file you import. Open client AI, PDF or EPS files and check fonts, effects and linked images before you send anything to print.
