Cairn is a survival-climbing game for PC from The Game Bakers, available on Steam. You play as Aava, a climber trying to be the first person to reach the top of Mount Kami. Cairn is available on Steam for Windows 10 and Windows 11. No extra launcher is required beyond Steam.
- Step 1. Go to the Cairn Steam page.
- Step 2. Choose the Standard or Deluxe Edition and complete your purchase.
- Step 3. Open your Steam library and click Install. The game is 10 GB. An SSD is required.
- Step 4. Launch the game from your library once the install finishes.
- Step 5. A controller is recommended. Connect one before launching for the best experience, or use keyboard and mouse if you prefer.

Cairn is a survival-climber developed and published by The Game Bakers, the studio behind Furi and Haven. It launched January 29, 2026 on Steam for Windows 10 and Windows 11. You play as Aava, a professional climber attempting the first ascent of Mount Kami, a peak no one has ever summited.
The mountain has no set path. You choose your own route across the entire face, deciding when to push higher and when to hold back. Climbing mechanics are physical and deliberate: hand placement, balance, and effort all factor in. A careless move causes a fall. A smart move opens the next section of rock.
Survival is built into every decision. Pitons anchor your rope and protect your fall, but you only carry so many. Chalk improves grip. Finger tape handles cuts. Food and water keep you moving. Running out of any of these at the wrong moment forces a retreat or ends the attempt. Bivouac camps (temporary rest spots you set up on the mountain) let you recover before pushing into harder sections above.
