Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7271 to the Dev and Beta Channels. This build is part of the Windows 11, version 25H2, and is being offered to both channels simultaneously. As a result, Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel now have the opportunity to switch to the Beta Channel, but this window will only be open for a limited time.

The Xbox full screen experience is a new feature that provides a console-style navigation interface for controller-first gaming on Windows 11 PCs. This experience is designed to be clean and distraction-free, allowing users to focus on their games. To access the Xbox full screen experience, users can go to Task View, Game Bar settings, or use the Win + F11 hotkey. The feature is currently being rolled out to Windows Insiders on the Dev and Beta Channels who are also registered Xbox Insiders.

In addition to the Xbox full screen experience, Microsoft is introducing several other new features, including point-in-time restore for Windows. This feature allows users to quickly roll back their device to a previous state, minimizing downtime and simplifying troubleshooting. Fluid Dictation is also being introduced, which makes voice-based dictation smoother and smarter by automatically correcting grammar, punctuation, and filler words.

Other improvements include changes to File Explorer, such as a new Manage file flyout and updated cloud provider options. The Microsoft Store has also been updated to allow users to uninstall Store-managed apps from the Store’s library page. Fixes are also being rolled out, including fixes for issues with the taskbar, internet connectivity, and File Explorer.

Microsoft is also investigating several known issues, including problems with the Xbox full screen experience, Taskbar and System Tray, File Explorer, and Bluetooth. Windows Insiders are encouraged to provide feedback on these issues and other features through the Feedback Hub.

The release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7271 is part of Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to test and refine new features and experiences for Windows 11. As with all Insider builds, features and experiences may change over time, be removed, or replaced, and may not be fully localized. Microsoft encourages Windows Insiders to provide feedback and help shape the future of Windows 11.
