Scam With Your Friends is a co-op comedy game for PC from JakeHub and Metater, available on Steam. You and your friends work in a fake call center and try to talk AI callers out of their money. Hit the daily quota, or your boss fires the whole team.

The callers are what make it different. You talk to them out loud through your mic, and an AI answers back in real time. No two calls go the same way, so the jokes come from what you and your friends say.

It launched in Early Access on October 15, 2026, from publisher Jatater Worldwide. It runs on Windows 10 and 11, needs an internet connection, and plays solo or with up to eight people.

What Is Scam With Your Friends?

Scam With Your Friends is a party game about running a phone scam operation in Kolkata, India, under a boss who yells at everyone. It comes from JakeHub and Metater, who publish their games together as Jatater Worldwide. Every caller is a fictional AI character with its own personality, and you have to talk them into paying.

A workday is a run of calls. You pick a scam, such as a fake police fine, a romance story, a lottery prize or a utility bill, and you work the caller until they hand over a payment code. A trust meter shows whether the caller believes you or is getting angry. Push too hard and they hang up.

A call in progress: the Caller Trust meter shows how the caller feels about you.

Your in-game desk has a whole fake operating system. You can remote into the caller’s computer with an app called AnyViewer, dig through their email, and use a paint app, a screen recorder and a webcam. Some scams turn into small minigames, like coin investment rounds where you cash out before the market crashes.

AnyViewer lets you into the caller’s computer once they read out their code.

The office fights back. Scambaiters (people who waste scammers’ time on purpose) can plant viruses on your PC, and the day can bring police raids or airstrikes. At the end of each day the boss plays back the funniest moments in a performance review, and if the team missed its quota, everyone is fired and the run starts over.

Our Take

🎮 Our Take

The idea behind Scam With Your Friends is clever: an AI that answers whatever you say makes every call different, and a group of friends shouting over each other on the same call is where the game is at its funniest. We will also say it plainly: a comedy about tricking people out of their life savings, set in an Indian call center, is in poor taste to us, because these scams hurt real people. As a game, it is an Early Access build with speech recognition that needed several patches in its first week, a quota loop that repeats, and a scam list the developers plan to grow.

If you have a group that loves chaotic voice-chat games and the theme does not bother you, it is cheap and it delivers the laughs. If you mostly play alone, do not want to use a mic, or want a finished game, wait for the full release. If the subject sits wrong with you, skip it.

System Requirements

These are the specs the developers list on Steam. There is only a minimum spec, and it is light. The heavier load is the voice side: speech recognition and the higher-quality caller voices run on your own PC.

Scam With Your Friends PC Requirements
Minimum, as published on Steam
Component Minimum
OS Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit
Processor Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600
Memory 3 GB RAM
Graphics Nvidia GTX 1060 (6 GB) / AMD RX 580
DirectX Version 11
Network Broadband internet connection
Storage 5 GB available space

The higher-quality Qwen3 caller voices need a compatible graphics card and switch off on their own if they are too slow. Older processors without AVX2 support get a lighter speech engine called Moonshine. If you are shopping for a new machine, our Best Gaming Desktops guide is a good place to start.

Tips for Beginners

1

Test your mic before the first shift

Open General settings and check that the game hears you. If speech feels slow, switch the speech engine to Moonshine. You can always type instead.

2

Let the voices finish downloading

The developers advise waiting on the main menu until the Qwen3 voice download is done, especially if you play in a language other than English.

3

Watch the trust meter

When a caller slides from trusting to angry, slow down and play along with their story. A caller who hangs up pays nothing.

4

Cash out of coin rounds early

Coin investments rise toward a crash at a random time. Waiting too long, or losing the caller, forfeits that round’s money.

5

Turn on Family Friendly mode for mixed groups

The host sets it for the lobby. It tones down caller talk, blocks the in-game browser and hides private caller photos.

Scam With Your Friends Mods and Custom Callers

Mods in Scam With Your Friends are mostly new callers. The game supports the Steam Workshop, and the developers built it to be modded. Here is how custom callers work.

Character Creator

Built in

Make a new caller inside the game: give it a name, a personality and a voice. You can import your own WAV or MP3 file for the voice.

Steam Workshop callers

Community

Upload the callers you make and subscribe to other players’ callers. Installed Workshop callers show up in your Daily Callers list.

Personality files

Advanced

Callers are defined in JSON files (plain text settings files), so you can write a personality by hand and pair it with a voice clip.

Workshop callers are made by other players, not the developers. Some are crude, so check a caller before you add it to a lobby with younger players, or turn on Family Friendly mode. In co-op, everyone needs the same game version for a lobby to work.

Scam With Your Friends FAQ

Do I need a microphone to play Scam With Your Friends?
No, but it helps. The game turns your voice into text with speech recognition and sends it to the AI caller. If your PC cannot run speech recognition, or you would rather not talk, you can type your replies to callers instead.
How do I join a friend’s game?
The host creates a lobby and shares its code. You can paste the code or a Steam invite link into Join by code. Lobbies hold 1 to 8 players, and you can also browse public lobbies filtered by player count and country. Everyone needs the same game version, so update through Steam first if a lobby refuses you.
Does Scam With Your Friends work on Steam Deck, Mac or Linux?
Not officially. Steam lists Windows only, and the developers say Mac, Linux, CrossOver, Wine and Proton setups are unsupported. Some players may get it running through Proton, but bugs there are not something the team promises to fix. Windows on ARM PCs has experimental speech and voice support.
Can I play Scam With Your Friends offline?
No. Steam lists a broadband internet connection in the requirements, even for single-player, because the AI callers need an online connection to answer you. If the AI service has a problem, the game shows a status message instead of a caller reply.
What are the Scam With Your Friends system requirements?
The minimum is 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 3 GB of RAM, an Nvidia GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD RX 580, DirectX 11, a broadband connection and 5 GB of storage. The developers have not published a recommended spec.
