Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is an open-world action-adventure for PC from Hideo Kojima and KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS, available on Steam. What is Death Stranding 2: On the Beach?
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Hideo Kojima and KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. It is the direct follow-up to 2019’s Death Stranding and picks up eleven months after the events of that game. You return as Sam, a porter carrying cargo across a fractured world where a supernatural disaster has torn the land apart and left it haunted by creatures called BTs.
The whole game is built around making deliveries. You plan a route, pack your gear, and set off across terrain that actively fights you: rough hills, unstable ground, extreme weather, and Timefall rain that ages everything it touches. Along the way you choose how to handle threats. You can fight Mech soldiers and new BT types, sneak past them using decoy holograms and silent movement, or build roads and zip-lines to skip dangerous areas entirely.
The online system is passive. Structures and supplies you leave behind can show up in other players’ worlds, and things they build can appear in yours. You never play in real time with anyone, but the world reflects what the community builds.

Every mission sends you across terrain that pushes back. You manage cargo weight, stamina, and balance on rough ground. Getting a fragile delivery across a mountain intact is the whole challenge.
👁️Combat or Stealth
You choose how to deal with threats. Mech soldiers and BTs can be fought with guns, grenades, and weapons you build. Or you can use decoy holograms, silent takedowns, and quieter gear to avoid them entirely.
🌧️Dynamic Weather and World
Day and night cycles, earthquakes, sandstorms, forest fires, and Timefall rain all change your route mid-trip. Timefall ages everything it hits, including your cargo, so waiting out a storm is sometimes the right call.

You play alone, but roads, signs, and shelters you build can appear in other players’ worlds. Things they leave behind can show up in yours too. You never play with others in real time, but the world feels like a shared effort.

Exoskeleton equipment boosts how much you can carry, how fast you move, or how well you fight. You upgrade and swap these out as you progress. Each type changes how your deliveries play out.
