Phantom Blade Zero is a kung fu action RPG for PC from S-GAME, available on Steam and the Epic Games Store. You play Soul, a warrior framed for killing his master and left with a wound that gives him 66 days to live. You fight your way through a dark martial-arts world to find out who set him up.
The combat is the reason to play. Real martial arts choreographers worked on the fights, and every strike and stance is based on real kung fu technique. You dodge, deflect and counter in fast chains, with over 30 main weapons and more than 20 special Phantom Edges to pick from.
It came out on October 28, 2026 on Steam (October 29 in Asia), built on Unreal Engine 5. It runs on Windows 10 and 11, has full controller support, and is also out on PlayStation 5.

What Is Phantom Blade Zero?
Phantom Blade Zero is a single-player action RPG set in the Phantom World, a dark take on the wuxia genre (Chinese martial-arts fantasy, full of sword fighters and secret schools). Soul is framed for his master’s murder and left with a wound to the heart and just 66 days to live.
The Phantom World mixes old Chinese towns with ruined factories.
S-GAME calls its style kungfupunk: classic kung fu films mixed with mechanical arms, broken-down industrial ruins and rock music. The world is built from linked areas with hidden paths and side stories, and the fights lean on timing, not button mashing. Bosses hit hard, so learning to deflect is a big part of the game.
Duels are fast, and a well-timed deflect opens the enemy up.

Key Features
Martial arts choreographers from classic kung fu films helped design the fights, and every move is based on a real technique.
Fights flow in one chain. Time a deflect well and you open the enemy up for a hard counter.
Each weapon has its own moves and rhythm. Switch to match the fight.
Special secondary weapons and skills you take from beaten enemies and bosses.
Linked areas hide side paths, puzzles and mechanisms, with side stories behind many of them.
Soul’s story is a race against time, and the mystery of who framed him drives the whole game.

Our Take
🎮 Our Take
Phantom Blade Zero looks like one of the most stylish action games of the year, and the combat is clearly where S-GAME spent its effort. Bringing in real kung fu choreographers shows: fights read like a film scene instead of a trade of hits, and the weapon count gives you plenty of room to find a style. The kungfupunk look also sets it apart from other dark action RPGs. What to weigh: it asks a lot of your PC (145 GB on an SSD, and the recommended spec targets 60 FPS only with upscaling on), it uses Denuvo, and at $59.99 on Steam it is priced like a big release.
If you loved Sekiro, Black Myth: Wukong or Nioh, buy it, and Standard is all you need. If you are not sure your PC can handle it, try it through cloud gaming first. If you only enjoy relaxed games or want to play with friends, skip it.
Why Play Phantom Blade Zero on PC?
- Higher framerates: PS5 players get what Sony’s hardware gives them. On a strong PC you can push past 60 FPS, which helps in a game built on deflect timing.
- Graphics control: Upscaling, sharpness, motion blur and camera shake are all in the settings, so you can tune it for your hardware.
- Mods: A modding scene started on day one: skip the intro videos, adjust the field of view, change the parry window and more.
- Pick your store: Buy it on Steam or the Epic Games Store, whichever you already use, or stream it with Boosteroid.
System Requirements
These are the requirements S-GAME lists on Steam and Epic. Both specs count on upscaling (rendering at a lower resolution and sharpening it back up), and both need an SSD. A hard drive is not supported.
Below the minimum spec? Cloud gaming runs it on a remote PC instead. If you would rather upgrade, our Best Gaming Desktops guide is a good place to start.
Tips for Beginners
Learn the deflect first
Deflecting turns defense into offense. Spend your first hour practicing the timing on normal enemies before the bosses test it.
Try every weapon you find
With over 30 main weapons, the one you start with is rarely the best fit. Swap often early on.
Use your Phantom Edges
These special attacks can break a tough enemy’s guard. Do not save them for later and forget them.
Explore off the main path
Hidden passages and mechanisms lead to gear, secrets and side stories that make Soul stronger.
Set the difficulty to suit you
The game has adjustable difficulty. If a boss is stuck on repeat, lowering it is better than quitting.
Best Phantom Blade Zero Mods to Start With
Phantom Blade Zero has no Steam Workshop. Mods come from Nexus Mods, where a scene started in launch week. The first wave is mostly fixes and comfort tweaks. These four are good places to start.
Back up your saves before modding. The game is single-player, so there is no anti-cheat ban to worry about, but a game patch can break a mod until its author updates it. Remove mods before reporting bugs to S-GAME.
