Big Walk is a cooperative online adventure for PC from House House, available on Steam.
You and your friends walk across a huge stretch of Australian bushland, solving puzzles that only work if you split up and talk to each other. There is no combat and no timer.
Talking is the mechanic, not a convenience feature. Your voice only reaches players standing near you, so the puzzles are built to pull your group apart and make you work for every message. Half the fun is finding out your directions made no sense to anyone else.
It launched on August 4, 2026, runs on Windows 11 and 10, and supports two to twelve players. Controller and mouse and keyboard both work, and crossplay is on. House House is the Melbourne studio behind Untitled Goose Game, and Panic is publishing.

How to Download Big Walk on PC
Steam is the only place to buy the Windows version. The Mac build sells through the Mac App Store instead.
- Step 1. Open the Big Walk Steam page.
- Step 2. Sign in to your Steam account, or make a free one.
- Step 3. Buy the game, then open your library and click Install. Everyone you play with needs their own copy.
- Step 4. Let Steam finish any update before you launch.
- Step 5. Plug in a headset, or set up text chat if you would rather type.
- Step 6. Open the settings and rebind controls or widen the field of view before your first session.
- Step 7. Send your friends an invite, or join one of theirs, and start walking.

Big Walk is on Boosteroid, which runs the game on its own hardware and streams the picture to your machine. It is marked as license required, so you buy the game on Steam once and then launch it through the service.
What Is Big Walk?
Big Walk is a co-op adventure built on one idea: your group can cover a lot of ground, but you cannot all be in the same place at once. The world is a big open stretch of bushland modeled on Wilsons Promontory in Victoria, Australia.
The puzzles are communication problems in a costume. One player sees a symbol another player has to press. Someone has to describe a shape, hum a tune, or read out a code from too far away to be heard.
Your voice fades with distance and muffles through walls, so the tools matter: walkie-talkies, megaphones, binoculars and a set of gestures. Even the music comes out of objects you find rather than sitting over the top of the game.
It has a beginning, a middle and an end. This is a finite adventure you finish with a group, not a live service you keep coming back to.

How Talking to Each Other Works
Every puzzle in Big Walk is really asking the same question: can you get an idea from your head into someone else’s while the game does its best to get in the way. These are the four tools you have.
VOICE
Distance Does the Work
Your voice carries about as far as it would in real life. It fades as you walk away and muffles through rock and scrub, so losing someone is a real problem and not a message on screen.
RANGE
Walkie-Talkies
A handheld radio reaches across the map. Grab one before you split up, because the moment you need it is always after you have walked away from everyone.
REACH
Megaphones and Binoculars
A megaphone pushes your voice further than it has any right to go. Binoculars let you read something on the far side of a valley and call it back.
SILENT
Gestures and Text
No microphone, or nobody can hear you? Gestures and text chat follow the same distance rules and work with the same items, so you are never locked out.

🎮 Our Take
Most co-op games give you a shared health bar and call it teamwork. Big Walk makes the distance between players the actual obstacle, and that is a better idea than it sounds on paper. It clicks the moment you realize the puzzle is not the symbol on the wall, it is that you have thirty seconds to explain the symbol to someone who cannot see it and can barely hear you. The best parts are things your friends said, not things the designers wrote.
The catch is that it needs the right group. Three or four friends who commit to the in-game voice system will have one of the better nights of co-op on PC. A group that mutes the game and jumps into Discord is paying twenty dollars to walk in a straight line. If you have the people, buy it.
Why Play on PC?
- Field of view control. The FOV slider is a PC and Mac feature only, and a wider view helps in a game where spotting something far away is the task.
- Higher framerates. A desktop can push past what the console versions are locked to.
- Better audio setup. Sorting out a headset, an input device and push to talk is easier on a PC, and this game leans on voice more than almost anything else you own.
- Mouse aim. Lining up binoculars or a gesture at range is quicker with a mouse than a stick.
- A real keyboard. If you play without a microphone, typing keeps you in the conversation at normal speed.

Tips for Beginners
Agree on who talks first
With more than four people, everyone shouting a different direction is the default failure. Pick one person to run each puzzle and let them ask the questions.
Grab a walkie-talkie before you split up
The moment you need one is always after you have walked away from everyone. Take the tools while the group is still together.
Describe what you see, not what you think it means
Saying it looks like a bird sends people hunting for a bird. Saying it is two curved lines over a dot gets solved in seconds.
Stay out of an outside voice call
The distance and muffling rules are the game. Skipping them with Discord removes most of what makes the puzzles work.
Set up accessibility options early
You can skip a challenge, rebind controls, widen the field of view, change the crosshair and reduce motion. Doing it at the start saves someone bouncing off an hour in.
