  1. Open Your PowerPoint Presentation: Navigate to the slide where you want to add the video.
  2. Insert Video: Go to the “Insert” tab on the ribbon, then click on “Video.” You’ll see options to insert a video from your PC.
  3. Choose Video to Insert: Select “This Device” if you’re using PowerPoint for Microsoft 365 or “Video on My PC” for older versions. Browse to the video file you want to add, select it, and click “Insert.”
  4. Adjust Video Options: Once inserted, you can resize, move, and format the video with PowerPoint’s video tools under the “Video Format” tab. You can also set playback options under the “Playback” tab, such as trimming the video, adding fade in/out, and choosing whether the video plays automatically or when clicked.

Embedding a YouTube Video

  1. Find the YouTube Video: Go to YouTube and find the video you want to embed. Below the video, click “Share,” then click “Embed” to find the embed code. Copy this code to your clipboard.
  2. Open Your PowerPoint Presentation: Navigate to the slide where you want to embed the YouTube video.
  3. Insert Video from Online: In PowerPoint, go to the “Insert” tab, click on “Video,” then choose “Online Video.”
  4. Paste the Embed Code: In the dialog box that appears, paste the YouTube video’s embed code you copied earlier.
  5. Adjust and Format: After inserting the video, you can move, resize, and format it using the “Video Format” tab. Playback options can be adjusted under the “Playback” tab.

Deleting a Video

  1. Open Your PowerPoint Presentation: Navigate to the slide that contains the video you wish to delete.
  2. Select the Video: Click on the video you want to remove. You should see a border appear around the video, indicating it is selected.
  3. Delete the Video:
    • Using Keyboard: Simply press the “Delete” key on your keyboard.
    • Using Right-Click Menu: Alternatively, you can right-click on the selected video and choose “Cut” or “Delete” from the context menu.
  4. Confirm Deletion: Once you press “Delete” or choose to cut/delete, the video will be immediately removed from your slide.
  5. Save Your Presentation: Don’t forget to save your PowerPoint presentation after making changes to ensure the video is permanently removed.
